What is an Usher of Westside Church of God?
An usher of WSCOG is an official whose business is to introduce; to act as a forerunner and doorkeeper. Since an usher is a forerunner, the great God of the universe was the first usher, for He ushered light into the world and called it day. Church ushers are doorkeepers in the house of God and guard at all times during the service.
Mission: To be doorkeepers in the house of God, and guard the same at all times during Westside Church of God services.
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness! ~ Psalms 84:10
Vision: To develop a ministry that provides ushers and usher services for Westside Church of God worship services and special activities.
Duties: Ushers and Greeters work to maintain the quality of the worship atmosphere and the flow of the worship service by providing manpower for leadership, service and assistance to the ministers and congregation. They receive the order of the day from the Pastor, they see that the Church is in proper condition to receive guests, and they see that required worship service items are distributed to the congregation as needed.
